Green Ryan bottles are generally very hard to find compared to blue because blue was his chosen color for his business. This is a wrapped block letter porter (Butler 10-134) that I hadn't seen firsthand before. Although undamaged, it does have wear and some manufacturing-related glass swirls in the top (see below) and so it's marked down a bit. A similar one sold on ebay in 11/23 for $630.
Embossed: (open block wrap) JOHN RYAN / PORTER & ALE // PHILADA XX / 1866
Color: deep grass green
Height: 6 7/8"
Top: applied double taper
Base: smooth
Structural Condition: a sound bottle with no chips or cracks. The collar has a few subtle rough edge spots that you need to feel for. The taper top has weird swiggle swirling in the glass on both the front and back (see pics). This is clearly from manufacturing and probably from a bad glass mix. It's notable because they have kind of a muddy look. But this isn't damage and the top appears structurally sound.
Surface Condition: this is a dug bottle that appears to have been polish cleaned. It retains overall ground wear and etching, plus a few residual patches of light haze.
