Excelsior Spring Water

Circa 1870 Excelsior Spring Water - Pint Saratoga - Uncommon Emerald Green Variant

This is a deep green colored example of this pint-sized Saratoga mineral water. This color is not seen often. The bottle also has an exceptional mold impression for an Excelsior. There is also loads of whittle character and hammering in the glass.

Embossed EXCELSIOR / SPRING / SARATOGA, N. Y.
Color deep emerald green
Height 7 7/8"
Top applied double taper
Base smooth, post mold

Structural Condition

perfect structurally - no damage of any sort. There is a glass gather in the top of the lip that sort of looks like a cork pry bruise but it is simply from manufacturing as it is fully annealed with the rest of the top. Crude character that goes with the whittling.
Surface Condition very little trace wear and a crisp strike. But there is patchy stain inside that would be worth an "inside-only" quick polish clean.
