Circa 1870 J. A. Lomax - Chicago Deep Cobalt Blue Soda
This is a chunky style early hutch type soda, very thick and heavy glass, and very pretty colored. Embossed: TRADE MARK / J. A. L. (in motiff) / REGISTERED / J. A. LOMAX / 14 - 16 / CHARLES PLACE / CHICAGO // THIS BOTTLE / MUST BE RETURNED Height: 7 1/8" Color: deep cobalt blue Condition: structurally perfect with no chips, dings or cracks. It's perfectly clean too but has been pro polished and retains spotty wear. Light embossing in spots. The pic that looks like a chip is actually a dimple in the glass from manufacturing.
