Civil War Period Historical Flask - McKearin GXI-9

This circa 1860-1865 pint flask is listed by McKearin as GXI-9. The top is crudely applied with a ring and drippy glass. The bottom is smooth. The color is a bluish aqua and the embossing strike is good.

Embossed: FOR PIKE'S PEAK / (picture of man walking with cane and sack over shoulder) / OLD RYE (in oval ring) // (picture of left facing eagle) / PITTSBURGH, PA (in oval ring)

Height:  8 1/4" 
Color: deep bluish aqua

Condition: Nearest mint - structurally perfect (no dings, chips, cracks), clean, only slight trace wear in spots mentioned for total accuracy. Great example.
