This bottle is one of the nicest examples I've seen, super clean and having some hammer whittling, great frosted pontil. Circa 1855, it has an applied double taper top.
Embossed: ERVEN & CO / BOTTLERS / PHILAD.A // BROWN STOUT
Height: 7 1/4"
Color: emerald green
Condition: a nice bottle that has no chips or dings, but there are two hairline fissures in the top, possibly from manufacturing or possibly cork prys. Otherwise, it has nice whittle character, and a great pontil, very clean, and possibly an attic find although it could have been tumbled (I'm not the first owner).
