Green Conshohockin PA Pontiled Slug-Plate Squat
This is for the bottle on the left in the picture below, a circa 1850-55 iron pontiled porter with an applied double taper top. This is an incredibly crude bottle - check out the bubbles in the neck in the one photo and the smoky string in the glass above the slug plate. The pontil is also crude - partly jagged with lots of residue. See all pics please.
Embossed: Jas MACKLIN / CONn CITY
Height: 7 3/8".
Color: deep teal green
Condition: a super example that displays mint and has only one flaw - an old shallow open bubble on the heel (popped during manufacturing) with a small sliver flake off the side wall of the open bubble (see base photo). This is no harm - a super piece!
