Circa 1845 Philadelphia Late Lager Squat
Here is a beautiful scarce Philly squat. I've only seen a few for sale in 20+ years. It's a late lager with an applied double taper top. The iron pontil is heavy and with nearly full residue in a deep kickup. See all pics please.
Embossed in PARTIAL rectangular slug: J. H. MAGEE / 118 / VINE ST. / PHILADA. Height: 7 1/2" Condition: Displays attic mint, and would be if not for a minor 3/8" cork pry bruise and pinhead nip at the very top. Please see the pic below where I tried to accentuate these. But note that there are no radiating lines and the roughness is on the backside so it doesn't show on display. There are no other flaws at all - the bottle shows remarkably little wear and has a fabulous strike with zero high point wear. Hard to top this one in overall condition!
