Very Rare! Pontiled Philly Squat - BEISEL

This is a circa 1850 pontiled green porter style soda from Philly with an applied double taper top. The base has a nice iron pontil with some residue. There are only a few of these known, and so even though this has some top damage it is still a decent example for the Philly collector wishing to add a new name to their soda collection.

Embossed in rectangular slug plate: PETER BEISEL / PHILA

Color: deep teal green

Condition: Except for the badly chipped top, this would be an excellent specimen with no other damage whatsoever, minimal wear, and just some patchy haze. The damage to the top looks to be an early cork pry bruise about 1/2" around, but with no radiating cracks so it is stable. You may never see another example of this rare soda for sale.
